What is Quick-Lock?
It is a resin-free partial repair technology that seals by inserting, expanding, and mechanically locking a stainless sleeve and rubber seal.
It is a trenchless pipe partial repair system developed and manufactured by the German Uhrig Group, which repairs leaks, cracks, and joint defects by inserting a stainless steel (SUS) sleeve (band) and a rubber seal into the damaged area, then expanding and fixing them. Since it seals purely by mechanical compression without using any resins or chemicals, there is no curing waiting time, and it can be installed even when wastewater is flowing through the pipe.
How is it installed?
The process involves measurement → sleeve mounting → robot transfer and positioning → packer expansion → locking and fixing.
- Applicability review, pipe inner diameter/damage length measurement
- Mount the sleeve onto the installation packer
- Transfer to the damaged point and confirm position using a CCTV camera and robot
- Uniformly expand the sleeve against the pipe wall by inflating the packer
- Built-in locking mechanism engages for permanent fixation
Where is it applied?
It is applied to leaking joints, circumferential cracks, and localized damage in sewage, water supply, seawater, and district heating pipes.
It is applicable to both free-flow pipes and pressure pipes with diameters from DN100 to 800 (separate lineup for large diameters DN800 and above), and is presented as having durability proven for over 30 years and European Technical Approval (2005) from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt).
